What skateboard logo….?

Posted by: admin  //  Category: Skateboarding Logos

There is skateboard company logo that used to have a lower case b, but they were fingers and it was the "ok’ sign in the states (index and thumb touching while the other the other 2 fingers made the top part of the b. The logo only had 4 fingers i might add)

I know this is the wrong section but there is no skateboarding section, but there is a handball go figure!

uuh idk im guessing either Plan B, birdhouse or baker

Any tips on skateboarding for beginners?

Posted by: admin  //  Category: Skateboarding Tips

It’ll help lots like how to do ollie’s, tic tac toe, and other tricks and tips on going on rough grounds and stuff like that Im not rushing or anything thanks for the help also I really need to clean my skateboard. Any good skateboarders? And where to go that has smooth grounds the place I live on the grounds are really rough. Not the skatepark though Im going when Im a little better. Also Anything else I need to know thanks a lot

okay first thing, I must say good job for knowing not to rush yourself, because it do you no good but hurt you. Okay now make sure you are pretty comfortable with riding a skateboarding, and going over small cracks on the floor (pick up your nose and you board should follow and go over it). 2nd make sure you know how to fall (Roll on ur back not fall straight down). 3rd make sure you know how to turn good, not just leaning to turn, but to pick up your nose and turn. 4th now you can try to ollie, ollie is really the most basic trick on a skateboard, unless you want to count the grabs (pick up your board and throw it down and land it as it falling, such as acid bomb drop, bomb drop etc), the real trick tip to ollie is really to get use to hitting the tail, jump as soon as it hits the floor, and as well as sliding your front feet to level out the board (yes I understand you need to at least know how to put your feet and what not to be the most important, but what i’m saying is what it takes to do a solid ollie, not just do it) Keep practicing and you will get use to it and know how to do it. Also finding foot placement is up to every skateboarder, of course trick tip can tell you a idea for where to put it, but the exact spot is up to you, that’s why trick tips doesn’t seem to help… because everyone is different and should be different. 5th, after Ollie I highly recommend going into shuvits / pop shuvits to give yourself the feeling of the board not sticking with you all the time and the jump to catch the board. shvuits is just pretty much throw your board around but you don’t stick with it, instead you throw it and jump forward a little to catch it. then you can combine shuvits and ollie into a 180 ollie, which you ollie but the board turn and so do u turning with it. Well also there’s things like fakie / nollie and nollie, but I mean talking about like a new trick and not just switching feet/ direction, of course it’s not a bad idea to learn tricks in fakie / nollie, because some trick is easier doing in fakie / nollie. after ollie 180, then you try for kickflip / heel flip. Never let one trick hold you down, because every time you do another trick is actually helping you working toward a harder trick because you get more use to the board movement and what not every time you land a trick regardless if it’s hard or easy. Good luck to you, and make sure to enjoy yourself! Feel free to ask me any question or whatever, my honor to help another skateboarder (also that’s just my suggestion, you can try out different order to see what works out for you)

Review on extreme yowzer skateboard?

Posted by: admin  //  Category: Uncategorized

i need a new board and i was looking at this onee, im not an extreme skaterr, and i havent got alot of money to spend on a board..its fom argos.. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9000616/c_1/1%7Ccat_12108128%7COutdoor+sports%7C12108263/Trail/searchtext%3ESKATEBOARDS.htm
thats the link for it…..please telll me what you thinkk!

Well if you’re on a tight budget then you’d be better off getting that than a Walmart board. Also, Speed Demons are cheap too, but actually very light and durable. I currently ride a Speed Demon, and it was only $35. Of course it isn’t the board ever I’ve ever ridden, but the quality is great for such a low price.

The link is for some Speed Demon boards you might wanna check out. Along with that if you don’t have them, you’ll need trucks, bearings, wheels, griptape, hardware, etc. You can find some cheap ones on ebay.
If you don’t like Speed Demons, then I guess it wouldn’t hurt to pick that board up.
Good Luck!

What skateboard should I get?

Posted by: admin  //  Category: Skateboard Gear

I’m buying a board for the first time (haven’t been skating very long at all, all I can do is literally skate without falling off but that’s because I’ve been using friends’ boards).
I’m buying a board over the internet since there are NO skate shops or anything near me and my mum won’t let me use ebay so I’m buying on amazon. Also the board has to be pretty cheap and I don’t really care about makes or brands or anything.

Basically I’m torn between two boards because I don’t know what size board I need to get (7 inches or 8 inches??):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Osprey-Pro-Skateboard-Metal-Gear/dp/B001FA355Q/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1245568899&sr=1-18

and

http://www.amazon.co.uk/JACKSONS-LEISURE-SUPPLIES-LTD-Skateboard/dp/B000Y9RZI2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1245568844&sr=1-3

If any of this information helps; I’m a girl, I’m 5"3.5 and my shoe size is 6 (UK size).

Ok DO NOT buy either of these boards they are cheap rubbish and will not help you at all!!! There really is no point buying a board like this as the trucks are rubbish the wheels and bearings will not let you get any sort of roll and the deck will not give you any pop. These boards really are just for young kids. Yur best bet is always a skate shop if you can travel (maybe ask your parents to drive you to one?). If this really is not an option go to a spacific skate website (check out skate mags like Sidewalk and Kingpin for the best ones with the best deals) as they will have all the propper gear, you can buy a complete set up reasonably cheap. You will get so much more enjoyment from a decent set up. As for size maybe start with an 8 inch board as the deck has a wider surface it will be eisier for you to get used to and learn on after that its personal chioce. I use an 8 inch deck but some of my friends ride 7 3/4 OR 7 1/2 inch decks. I hope this helps.
