Okay, I’m 15 and used to skate when I was about 9 or 10 but I never got anywhere with it, I just messed around. I’m thinking about starting skating again but taking it a bit more serious and trying to learn tricks. This question is aimed at skaters who are good at skating and know what they’re talking about.
I’m looking to built a skateboard and I’d like a bit of help choosing a decent deck, trucks & wheels etc. I don’t want anything too cheap / rubbish as I don’t want to have to keep upgrading if I get better.
P.S. I’m in the UK, also if you know any good websites to buy skating stuff from in the UK please let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks but that’s a US site..

DECK:
I’ve been skating a element deck quite some time, and i seriously recommend them. I’d go for an Iron Fist/Plan B deck too, your choice. The brand of the deck won’t really vary your ability to perform tricks and shit (unless you buy a cheap-ass board), it’s more the shape, size and weight you have to factor in. Study the boards in your local skate shops and look for a nice deck, even ask the okes in the shop, most of them will have some kind of skate knowledge. Anything under about 25pounds will not be of the highest quality.
TRUCKS:
Also element/iron fist – preferably something strong, but also light weight.
WHEELS/BEARINGS:
Wheels aren’t a major issue, just try to avoid the fat, wide wheels. Just stick to popular brands.
For the bearings i’d go for either abec7/abec9 even. Although even abec3 can be quite fast. Not such a big deal, as long as they turn.
Get whatever grip tape you like, something with a sick design/logo is always a treat
Hope this helps
Peace
ccs.com has an online catalog of lots of boards weels bearings grip tape everything you need clothes also you can order stuff there

go to your skate shop if there is one.
boards: im skating a flip and its really good. i hear they break easy but i havent broken mine yet, but ive only had it for like a week. toy machines are supposedly very good. girl, baker, anti hero, krooked, dgk, alien workshop, chocolate, habitat, Think, zoo yorks are suppose to be nice but alot of people break them easy. if u want blanks, mini logos are good.
trucks: indy, venture, thunder, tensor.
Griptape: black diamond, mob, jessup. ( i dont pay much attention to grip tape. i just get BD its the cheapest.)
wheels: ricta, bones.
hardware: shorty’s
bearings: i just get the cheapest they got, idc much for them
idk what sites ship to UK but ccs, skate warehouse, amazon.com, skate america, are all good ones.
