There are probably a dozen or more reasons that I hate blank skateboards but for the sake of my sanity I’m going to tone it down a bit and only spit a few at you in the video, I’ll save the rest for responses to comments.
Yes I realize that I stuttered and stumbled on a few words but it’s been a while since I made a video and I jumped right into a 9 minute long vlog so you’ll have to excuse me for beasting it in less than 3 tries.

A simple search for Paul Schmitt or Tim Piumarta will yield an insane number of hits that reinforce the idea that they really do take R&D VERY seriously.
Are you guys seriously going to try and use the arguments that I’ve already destroyed to prove me wrong? Come up with something fresh or don’t bother trying to debate with me.
You guys are getting “(Insert company’s name) make our shop decks” with “We get our shop decks from the same distributor as (insert shop name)”. Just because the wood comes from the same supplier does not mean that the same technology is used to make the deck, it just means that the WOOD comes from the same trees which means literally nothing. The glue and pressing has a lot more to do with the durability of the deck than the wood itself so no, your shop decks are not THE SAME as a pro deck.
You guys also have to keep in mind that when you buy anything from anyone that you’re dealing with a salesman. This is what they do for a living and it’s important that they do it well if they want to feed their families. They’re content selling you a shop deck because the shop gets a huge chunk of that profit. They buy uber cheap decks and slap a graphic on it for little to nothing and sell it with a higher profit margin than they can with a regular deck. If they sold pro decks the way they sell blanks, they would cost like $90 a piece and no one is going to pay that.
http://dwindle.com/ does a great job illustrating my point that they do insane amounts of R&D. Go check out their video page and you’ll get a little taste of what goes into making a deck.
